Smaller businesses tend to communicate differently than larger entities. Instead of internal meetings, you spend more time reaching out individually to customers, prospects and partners. Making calls can be costly, especially if you’re talking to colleagues and customers on their mobile phones or when they’re in other parts of the world. Keeping costs to a minimum is vital to improving your bottom line. Do you think large business should use Skype to communicate, rather than taking time and effort to try and gather employee's to have a business meeting across multiple departments?
Skype is a time effective tool that most businesses utilize to save money. Especially with skyping with those employees outside of the country resulting in spending less money on travel and accommodation expenses. But, Businesses must also be wary of having good internet connection and make sure that all the equipment is set up to avoid delaying time. It can also be used to make proposals to client rather than spend even more money to pay for their travel and accommodation expenses. Skype is also free and less money would be spent on making expensive international calls. If businesses are looking for a cheap way to make international calls, there is a phone company called Vonage in which you can make as many calls as you outside the country for about fifty dollars a month.
ReplyDeleteI believe Skype is a good form of communication between business employees. However, I feel as if a business is going to be a major business and have protected information, they should create their own form of Skype. I would be weary of using another company's communication to pass around my trade secrets. My own email system would be more effective but I feel as if my tech guy could create a video chat that is both owned by my company but also saves the costs of traveling to meet each other.

ReplyDeleteI think Skype is an efficient method of communication that many businesses take advantage of. It is much cheaper and can sometimes be quicker to connect with a colleague or customer. However, I believe for more important business discussions, they may need to be done in person. Determining which of the meetings should be done through Skype and which ones being done in person would depend on the businesses preferences.
